The Wellington City Councils Emergency Management Office recommends that at least 9 litres of water be stored for each person. This allows 3 litres per person per day for a period of 3 days. This is a recommended minimum as your emergency water may be used for a variety of other uses in an emergency such as the cleaning of wounds and rinsing dust from your eyes and face.
